FROM JENNIE CHEN

2015 is Yin Wood Goat year. Goat belongs to earth elements in itself.
The day master is terribly weak. No companions exist. There are some resources present (戊, and 未), but both are hot dry earth that is not conductive in producing metal (the day master). So in this situation, the nature flow is to follow wood elements.
Wood associates with education, writing, arts and culture. So people who have lots of wood elements in their chart will do well financially. And these areas should be very rewarding to pursuit you work.
Wood element produces fire element. Fire element is the 2nd dominant element in this chart. So computer industry, electric company will continue to flourish following 2014.
Wood is so dominant, even the Earth element is greatly suppressed. The fighting between wood and earth can potentially translate into earthquake or some form of destruction to the Earth.
Mental industry like bank, financial institute, insurance etc. will not do too well, not much opportunity or progress there. These areas are going to downgrade from 2014 activities.
In summary, 2015 goat year should be a year of great advancement in the creativity of art, literature, education. This is in line with first new moon on zero degree on Pisces. Anytime a zero degree is activated, the subject matter in that sign is highlighted – in this case, anything under Pisces domain.

Thanks,
Jennie

The WOOD GOAT year for other signs (part I)

Rat (born 2008, 1996, 1984, 1972, 1960, 1948)
Rat and goat harm each other. As Goat is the Grand Duke(太岁), it is one of the animal sign that offends the Grand Duke. But comparing crashing into Grand Duke last year, this is much optimistic. This year, the auspicious stars like Tien Yi Nobleman (天乙贵人), Taiji Nobleman (太极贵人) are present to help resolve obstacle and difficulty. Peach blossom is also present for rat. In addition, One White Star fly to North this year also help alleviate Rat people. Grand Duke is Earth element, and Rat is water, the fighting of the two suggests potential health issues in kidney and urinary track system.

OX (2009, 1997, 1985, 1973, 1961, 1949)
Ox crash into Grand Duke, crash usually denote lawsuit, traffic accident, argument, or issues with health). Ox people should search for light of the tunnel by facing the challenges in square, and adjust to the new cycle with renewed spirit and attitude. They should replace outdated ways of doing things with new approach, new strategy, and methodology to tackle issues and obstacles. There will be problems with several inauspicious stars coming to OX palace this year. Fortunately, Ox people do not have to handle all these by themselves. Fortunate Star Nobleman (福星贵人) is with Ox and help unwrap all the tangles of unfavorable stars, turning a difficult year into peace and success.

Tiger (1998, 1986, 1974, 1962, 1950)
Tiger is one of the most fortunate animal sign this year. There are three level one stars coming to Tiger palace – Purple Star, Dragon Virtue, and Heavenly Happiness. With so strong support, no bad stars can stop Tiger people from advancement in business, career, and life.

Rabbit (1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951)
Rabbit has Gold Lock star (金匱 ), which brings wealth and fortune in career, rabbit also combines with Grand Duke, plus the Heavenly stem of Grand Duke is the Reward God of Rabbit. So obviously this is a charging on, rewarding year for rabbit who putting in the effort.

Dragon (2000, 1988, 1976, 1964, 1952, 1940)
Dragon People has dramatic increase in luck with Heavenly Virtue, Fortune Star coming to its palace. Heavenly Virtue has the most high-level nobility in the five-elements. It bestows most fortuitous circumstance where people will surround you and follow your command and request. So dragon people need to expand their connections, network, business, and investment to attract opportunities for manifestation.

Snake (2001, 1989, 1977, 1965, 1953, 1941)
Snake people have Sky Horse, Eight Seats, Golden Carriage presented in the palace. There will be a lot of opportunity to travel, change job, moving house – the more moving around, the merrier. Eight Seats is the star of recognition of talents and career promotions. Golden Carriage is very favorable in fields of medicine, dietitian, Cosmetology and culture changes.

Horse (1942, 1954, 1966, 1978,1990,2002)
Having TaiJi Nobleman and Intelligence star present for the goat year, Horse is one of the five most fortunate animal sign. It forms Six-Combo with Grand Duke. These stars are especially helpful in advancing their study especially for people in the art, literature circle.

Goat (1943, 1955, 1967, 1979,1991, 2003)
Being Fu Yin with Grand Duke, it is another offending animal sign, the luck can be extreme. For people who are riding the lucky wave, it can be even better, for people who are in their degrading cycle, the situation can be worse. However, it is very favorable for those who specialize in art and creativity field, as the Elegant Seal star stimulates imagination juice, offer a lot of flexibility, out-of-box thinking power.

Monkey (1944,1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004)
Monkey: The Grand Duke produce in this sign. The Nobleman star visits this palace, very favorable for career and wealth. This sign also has Red Match-Maker, the popularity you enjoy will be useful for your work and life.

Roster (1945, 1957, 1969, 1993, 2005)
Roster: This is kind of a dull year, not much powerful help around. Everything need to be more conservative, and on the defense side.

Dog (1946, 1958, 1970, 1994, 2006)
Dog: Moon Noble star is with you, a lot of problem, difficulties can be resolved with the female helper. Also Fortunate Virtue star is here to bestow high-level support. Alas it has Punishment relationship with the Grand Duke, so it can be volatile, with a lot of up and down.

Pig (1947, 1959, 1971, 1994, 2006)
Heaven Virtue, State Seal is with the sign. State Seal is a talent star, but can be arrogant and lonely, very useful for artistic, creative pursuit. Heaven Virtue attracts wealth and fortune, very favorable for business and development.

CHINESE ASTROLOGY: 2015, The Year of the Wood Goat
By Monica Dimino

(In Chinese, the word for sheep and the word for goat are the same, sometimes translated as Ram.)

The Chinese New Year was late this year, and that in itself has meaning for us, so let's start here.
While there are a number of ways to determine the date of the Chinese New Year, for the past 350 years the second new moon after the shortest day has been the designated date. This will hold until 2033. However, whenever this designated date is late, essentially after the Chinese Spring, around February 5, it is seen as a negative omen for the year ahead. Late starts or frustrated energy follow. Will this be the signature for 2015?

On the other hand, the year of the Goat, or the Sheep, promises many gentle qualities. In Western astrology it corresponds to the sign of Cancer. The Chinese consider it to be one of the cornerstones of a well ordered society. This filial piety extends to the society. If you have ever had the opportunity to watch a flock of sheep, often along with goats, it is breathtaking to see how orderly they follow the shepherd. One man with his sheep dog can handle over a thousand animals, leading them to new grazing land over vast distances and none leaves the flock. Even their grazing habits are orderly and thorough. They leave nothing standing!
In understanding Chinese Astrology, It is best to observe the animal to access the deeper meaning of a given animal year. First, know the animal and its habitat. Then lean into the stories and myths in which they appear. Observe how they are portrayed in art and illustrations. Goats are familiar animals which most of us can relate to. They are cute and get along well with the other barnyard animals.

In outlining any given Chinese year, a number of layers will be taken into consideration. There are Yin and Yang animals. These qualities are fixed for life, so to speak. The Goat or Sheep is a Yin animal in any context. And each animal has a native element to represent it. The Goat's is Earth. It is a summer sign. Earth represents a fifth season, a fallow or waiting period before the approach of the next season. But as the 60 year full cycle evolves, each new year a different element will be represented.

So, in this year of Wood Goat, we are moving into a Yin year represented by the element Wood, adding another facet to the already established characteristics of the goat. This element adds ethics and moral considerations . Wood is expansive and cooperative by nature. It adds an edgy quality to the gentle sheep. Wood lends to separating matters and putting them into correct categories. Progressive and generous, this allows for long term and sizable developments. Our most recent year of the Wood Goat is 1955. It is the birth year of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

The overall view for us as we morph into goat land this year should have a softer, gentler touch. Narrow minded views may give way to broader vision. The goat and the sheep are associated with peace and prosperity. They cannot thrive without it. This is the Chinese perspective of this year. But we in the West are also sensitive to the "follow the leader" component of this animal. This may complicate 2015 when our leaders cannot make up their minds. Will too many authorities create a stampede?

Individuals born in the year of the ram have bonding traits. They are capable of forging long term ties in which family life is important. Also, in my 50 year dedication to observing natives of the various animal years, the most absolutely consistent feature of the goat is their creativity. Imagination, arts, metaphysics ... it's rare to meet a goat insensitive to these worlds. We may expect some of these traits to show up in the upcoming months until the next Chinese New Year.
