Meet Our Teams:
Charles Jameson (Melbourne)
My astrological journey started in the early 1990s when I had my first astrological reading. It was one of those ‘significant events’; was a stepping stone to an eight year involvement with an esoteric Christian community and learning astrology in a small group at the astrologer’s home. In about 1997 I passed the Federation of Australia Astrologers (FAA) Practitioner’s Diploma exam. And later completed Robert Zoller’s Foundation of Medieval Astrology and John Frawley’s Horary Apprenticeship. I was co-organiser of two iterations of the Regulus traditional astrology conference in Melbourne. And I’ve presented at the Victorian Astrologers Association on topics such as Elizabethan astrologer Simon Forman, the astrology of cult leaders Jim Jones and Marshall Applewhite and the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction cycles. I have an enduring fascination with the esoteric side of life, history and the ‘meaning’ of, well, pretty much everything. I currently work full time in the business training sector, so astrology is (for now) an enduring passion outside that realm. I was inspired to become the OPA Australian satellite after hearing Maurice interviewed on Chris Brennan’s podcast (The Astrology Podcast). I’d never previously heard of OPA. But I’d now like to share its existence with my fellow Australians.
Donna Young (Calgary)
I've been studying astrology since 2001. The desire to learn came to me suddenly and without warning. It was a Uranus thing. By 2005 I was working towards a degree with Kepler College, and today I am happy to be involved with Kepler as an introductory level instructor. Even though I still feel like a rookie, I'm delighted to be able to pass on my passion to those who answer the call. I have a practice in Calgary, Alberta, where I also teach classes and am very active in growing the astrological community.
I am honoured to be a representative of OPA, and look forward to helping connect Canadians from coast to coast. The more involved I am, the more I realize what talent we have in our own back yard. I hope we can learn and grow from each other, and bring astrology to a much greater segment of the population.
Tamira McGillivray (Halifax)
I have been a student of astrology for many years before I started working toward a BA in Astrological studies in 2003 when I became passionate about embracing ancient material. This provided a valuable platform to take my astrological understanding to deeper levels and apply them to modern concerns. As a dedicated instructor and professional astrologer I enjoy encouraging others to follow their passion and take their studies and practice to a new level. I have moved across Canada a few times and in doing so have discovered the need for a platform to share experiences and knowledge – I strongly believe thatOPA provides the perfect venue for us to bring our Canadian community closer together.
Lucia Lu Luyao 路瑶 (Rizhao)
I began to learn western astrology in college when I was 20 years old. I read anything I could find about astrology on websites and in the libraries. It opened a door for me to a new world. I was thrilled and I began to tell people that in the future my ideal job would be as a professional astrologer.
In the last decade some excellent western astrology books have been translated into Chinese and then some great western astrology teachers came to teach in China. I was lucky to learn from them. Now working as an astrologer is not a dream anymore as I have been working as a full time astrologer in 2011. I quickly received public exposure through the internet, magazines and newspapers. At that time Weibo was the most popular social media platform and astrologers attracted a lot of public attention. Now my daily work includes doing sessions, teaching students, and writing articles. Promoting and introducing good western astrology and spirituality to people in China is also important part of my job. I am married to an American and have a 4-year-old daughter. We live in Rizhao (which means Sunshine), a coastal city in Shandong province in China.
I am very happy to have found OPA as it fits with my desire to work with young people and build an astrologers' community in China. I look forward to further interaction.
ABOUT ASTROLOGY IN CHINA: Mainland China has a long history of spirituality and wisdom traditions, but in last century they were damaged and forgotten. These days China is very dynamic so it changes very quickly. People are using the internet to learn and make friends who share their same vision and interests. The influence of the scientific way of thinking is not strong here and most Chinese do not have any specific religious beliefs. Many Chinese are good with I Ching and they believe astrology works. Professional western astrologers here are mostly young and well educated and in my opinion it is likely that the professional practice will evolve together with other Chinese wisdom traditions and become a part of Chinese people’s daily life in the future.
Republic of Georgia Satellite
Khatuna Noel (Tbilisi)
Aquarius by Sun, and Leo by Moon, I got interested in astrology and esoteric studies in the early 1990s. I began my professional practice six years ago, working now as a full-time astrologer and presenting a weekly astrological report onn Television. In parallel, I continue learning, as I consider that learning is developing.
ABOUT ASTROLOGY IN THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA:There aren't many professional astrologers in Georgia , you can find more self-taught people or those who follow it as hobby. There is a little group of people who learned classical western astrology at schools operating in neighboring Russia, but there is a lack of astrological schools and literature. However, we now see a new generation coming who is more enthusiastic, interested to develop in this direction and learn astrology deeper and more fundamentally.
Angela Tikis (Athens)
Websites: Angela's website
I am a full-time astrologer for about eight years and practice in Athens but thanks to internet technology I have clients from various parts of Greece and other countries. I approach the natal chart from a psychological point of view. By reinforcing the positive elements and by trying to eliminate the negative patterns, we automatically become masters of our lives.
About Astrology in Greece
Astrology in Greece is often limited to popular predictions. As a result, most people and many astrologers themselves do not understand or do not promote it as a pivotal philosophical system of self-awareness.
Fortunately, the younger generation of astrologers shows a substantial interest in the mystical, inner and psychological side of astrology, the knowledge of which I consider as essential for a correct interpretation of a chart or even for an accurate prediction.
Personally, I try to do the best that I can to support this new generation.
Boaz Fyler (Tel Aviv)
I have been studying astrology with since 1999, essentially practicing Evolutionary Astrology. Living in Israel has always given me perspective. I have been lucky enough to grow up with two Hippie parents who taught me that the value of peace, love and happiness outweighs the race for money, power and dominance.
About Astrology in Israel
The Astrological community in Israel is rapidly expanding and although it's still relatively small, we are a mutually supportive and professional. The community is always looking for new ways to learn and expand our knowledge, and find new ways to connects with the global scene. The connection with global organizations such as OPA and ISAR, instigated thanks to the efforts of Maurice Fernandez in recent years, has created wonderful new exchanges with peers and teachers. It stimulates the community with new knowledge and inspiration, and it advances the local professional practice.
I'm looking forward to play a part in further enhancing these dynamics and to contribute to the professional community of astrologers, as i now serve as the representative of the Israeli Satellite of OPA.
Ursula Stockder (Mexico City)
I am very glad to be part of OPA and hope to be able promote this incredible Organization. I have been practicing psychological astrology for a long time. I studied Jungian psychology, tarot and thanatology. I have always been in search for more answers. I manage a small cultural center in Mexico City, where we promote cultural gatherings and psychological and astrological workshops.
Sol W. Jonassen (Bergen)
I practice astrology across Norway and internationally to some extent. My office is in the city of Bergen, on the west coast of Norway, where I see clients and give astrology classes. I write an astrology column for an online magazine, and I am a member of the board for the Norwegian Astrology Association, to which I also contribute to their quarterly magazine. I have presented internationally at the Norwac Conference (2014), The River of Stars (2011) and at the International Conference in Israel (2009). I’m also the organizer of an annual astrology conference in Norway, Polaris.
My orientation is evolutionary and spiritually oriented astrology. I also have a strong interest in different healing modalities and yoga. I see astrology as a healing and liberating tool for people. I do not put too much focus on predictions, even though I maintain an interest in classical astrology.
About Astrology in Norway:
With Norway’s relatively small population, astrology is mostly on the fringes, and very few astrologers are able to make a living from their practice; however, thanks to the internet, the community is growing stronger. There is one major school of astrology in Norway, called Herkules, offering classes all over Norway.
With the new addition of Polaris, our annual Astrology conference, the future of Norwegian astrology is looking bright!
Dmitriy Paramonov (Izhevsk)
I’m a full time astrologer in Izhevsk, in the Udmurt Republic of Russia. In the beginning of my astrological career I combined it with other activities, but I am now able to fully focus on astrology. I provide counseling for clients, I teach astrology, I collect electronic library of astrological literature and help astrologers sell their books, and I created an audio and video recordings of lectures on Astrology. I also help astrologers create their website, electronic payment system for consultation, and promotional materials (guides, booklets, banners). With other astrologers, I organize astrological conferences and competitions for professional astrologers. I’m also involved in research esoteric fields, and take part in a project called "Astrological cartoons, as well as a certification program in accordance with Russian legislation.
I was born in Izhevsk (the Udmurt Republic, Russia) on 21.12.1972 at 7:42pm. I practice astrology on the Internet at some Russian-language sites, forums and social networks.
My Astrology orientation focuses on the evolution of human personality, the reasons of the formation of certain events in a person's life, in process of social adaptation. Astrology is for me a tool for learning the laws of karma, to determine human destiny, it is a channel for knowledge in itself to better understand our world. Astrology came into my life so deeply that now I find it difficult to tell where in my life ends astrology and begins ordinariness.
About Astrology in Russia
Astrology is popular in Russia and there are now many astrological schools and associations. Beyond Western Astrology schools, there are also schools for Indian astrology, Chinese astrology, American astrology, Cabalistic astrology. Many astrological books are available in bookstores, but most of them are beginners-level. Because of language barrier Russian astrologers don’t read many books from modern astrologers from America, Australia and Europe.

Elena Porciani van Baalen (Johannesburg)
About Astrology in South Africa:
It is time that Astrology in South Africa reached out towards one another and that the mutual love of this beautiful knowledge brings the diverse practices together. We have many astrologers, teachers and practices in our major cities. Again, open communication and a sense of wholeness can bridge and bring together. With spiritual Piscean Neptune in attendance to dissolve boundaries, together with the transformative power of Pluto in Capricorn to build strong structures, cohesiveness can be forged. The impatient Aries of Uranus is urging the higher mind of seekers of the Cosmos to do it now! Our amazing country is rich with cultural and ancestral knowledge. It is here, on this ancient human birthing soil, that Homo sapiens first became curious to explore. This search for another reality started a journey that now encompasses our entire global village. But our minds have since soared to the stars and beyond to answer the questio

Victor Olliver (London)
I came to astrology relatively late in life after a career in British journalism as an award-winning feature writer and editor. My work (mainly celebrity profiles, film reviews and lifestyle pieces) appeared in many publications including The Sunday Times Magazine and Marie Claire. In 2012 I obtained a diploma with distinction in natal and mundane astrology from the Mayo School of Astrology in London. I am now editor of the Astrological Association’s bimonthly magazine The Astrological Journal and media officer of the Association of Professional Astrologers International. I am especially interested in the practical applications of astrology and its relationship and interaction with mainstream culture. Though my education is in modern systems and perspectives, I am open to many other approaches including traditional techniques. I am planning to study classical astrology as practised by the ancient Greeks and Romans.
